Submitted 2012. This research explores the rising trend of community gardens initiated by women around the Tel-Aviv metropolis. It aims to understand the phenomena, focusing on the participants' motivations and attitudes, identity variables and the characteristics of community initiatives organized by women. The research will be conceptualized within the broader scope of women's actions aimed to improve their human and physical environment, with an emphasis on the relations between motherhood and the urban environment. The methodology will be based on qualitative research methods, using in-depth interviews and participant observations.
