Planning and Art – Planning as Art

This new planning direction aims to explore new methodologies and approaches to deepen the understanding of working with communities and the involvement of the different ‘actors’ in urban planning and especially processes of urban regeneration. Such researches emphasize the engagement with different art disciplines with urban regeneration processes such as: film making, video, theatre and music. In PECLAB we carry out the following researches:

• Lavie Heitzig – the use of video as a tool to promote urban planning – M.A. thesis
• Hila Lavit – The relationships between music, society and space
• Roni Schlezinger – Art performance as a means to claim the right to the city – B.A Excellence Program Research (Ended in 2018)
